IELTS Writing task 2

Ques: Parents are the best teachers for the children. Do you agree or disagree with the statement?

Answer:

Teachers are the best friends, guides and a philosopher. They become role models for some of the students in formal educations. whereas family is a group of kids and kins living together and supporting each other in any situation be it be good or bad, they are always there for each other socially, morally and financially.

I agree with the statement that the parents are the best motivators and mentors for the children. It is because a child is more close to the parents for longer period. With this parents can understand their behavior and nature in a better manner than those of teachers. It is one on one interaction of informal education, child learns much by observing the behavior of the parents and unconsciously the trades are carried away.

Expanding the statement, to teach a child it is important to understand the genetic trades. With this handling becomes easy, moreover parents can teach moral and ethical values which makes the child practical and boldly wise. Both polishing formal and informal are required to groom the personality of the child.Parents make so many sacrifices for us just for our better life and make compromises with their life and nothing in the whole universe can be compared with their sacrifice. For example if a student is not able to pay is tuition fee and is warned to come to school without the fees then their so called teachers will not bother for them, parents will adjust their budget and find any way to pay their child's fees so the child future is saved. Thus parents are there for their children no matter how worse is the situation.

To summarize, children at a growing stage are very insecure, immature and inexperienced. They definitely require protection from the outside world by the teachers and parents. Teachers enhance the knowledge, horizon and the child's view of life but the very basic foundation and ground manners are taught by the parents. According to my opinion a child gets best formal education from teachers where he learns discipline and informal education like values from the parents.

IELTS Test

Which ielts test should we take Idp or Bc?

The candidates who are going or planning to give IELTS test know what Idp and Bc stands for and what is their purpose.
For those who are not aware of this let me explain you in short.

IDP stands for International Development Program and BC stands for British Council.

What should i take IDP or BC?

IELTS Exam is being organised by Cambridge English Language Assessment , IDP and BC are part owners of the Cambridge or you can assume them as the subset of the Cambridge. IDP and BC are responsible for conducting the exam.

Honestly speaking it doesn't matter what you take, all it matter is how much you are prepared, practice and worked on and off course little bit of luck.
There is a huge misconception about the idp and bc that one is better than the other.
Some says giving test through idp is better option and the others say bc is the best option.
Test takers who score good through idp they will obviously recommend others to take idp whereas who score well through bc will praise it. But this all is said only in words, practically it is just a myth that is making the candidates to think once.

Both IDP and BC are just to conduct the test as it is difficult for one to conduct and organize such huge number of candidates.

The test checker are given proper instructions and are given the answer key for the Listening and Reading section for grading so it doesn't matter for both Idp and Bc
And the remaining two sections i.e Writing and Speaking, these two sections are volunteered by highly skilled examiners who take many factors under consideration.
So according to me it all depends upon the hard work and little bit luck that which examiner you get.
There is a big myth that if one appears at Bc, they would have given 0.5 bands more than the Idp. Its nothing like that .

Let me give you an example-

My friend whose lives in Canada has given the test through idp and he cleared the exam in his first attempt only with 6.5 overall.
He scored Listening-7.5
                 Reading- 6.5
                 Writing- 6
                 Speaking -6

My friend's fellow neighbor also wanted to go but unfortunately he was not able to score the bands.
He also gave the exam on the same date through Idp and scored 6 overall with
Listening- 6.5
Reading- 6.5
Writing- 5
Speaking- 6
Then a month later he tried once again but through Bc but another bad luck, he was again unsuccessful as he was unable to score in one section.
He scored 7 overall with
Listening- 8
Reading- 7
Writing-6.5
Speaking- 5.5

The point is that it really doesn't matter through which body you give the exam.

Task2

Ques: Small shops in towns are replaced by big shopping malls. Discuss positive and negative impacts?

Answer:

This is a true fact to consider that present world has become global village. Therefore, people are attracted towards to buy their all necessities from the competitive market that benefits them in any way. And this has resulted increase in the number of shopping malls that are established in past few years in almost all cities of the world to lure people towards them. Considering this it has both the positive and negative impact.

Analyzing the statement, it is a known fact that majority of shopping decisions are influenced by two main factors- cost and convenience. Large shopping mall provide both these factors very effectively. As these malls purchase the goods in bulk due to which they have more profit and then they sell them at low price than the shopkeepers. More over, collecting in bulk help the mall owner to display variety of products and mostly branded products are sold with excellent quality fibers. Further more, these malls have wide range of sections under one roof which make them convenient. For example, people can easily find electronics, clothing, grocery and sports items in one place which save their time.

Additionally, due to large competition large malls also employ people to serve to their customers thus generating jobs. These people help customers to buy according to their need. Another reason is facilities like parking space, recreational activities, air conditioners, food points and café has made these malls more successful.

On the flip side, it also has some disadvantage like customers can not bargain in malls as the owner has displayed the fixed prices and sometimes they just waste money buying things which are beyond their approach and they don't need as they are enticed by the new good looking things. Traditional way of shopping is going down.

To summarize, though shopping malls have both positive and negative impact but I believe advantages outweigh the disadvantages. And more over I think that it will take some more time might be years to completely replace the shopping malls.

Task 2

Ques: Some people believe that children’s leisure activities must be educational otherwise they waste complete time. Do you agree or disagree? Support your answer with your example.

Answer:

The manner in which children spent their free time varies from one to another. It can be related to education, sports or any other thing. Earlier students had time to play games, walk in the garden or gossip with the others. But due to hectic schedules, today students have little time to spend on leisure activities because of increasing competitive level in education.

Analyzing the statement, pupils should be involved in tasks which are related to education but utilizing spare interval performing healthy activities and watching television will help in their health and concentration. Young people are required to perform body movements for improving physical abilities. For instance, planning a time table in school which always include some periods dedicated to sports will results in their motion and help them maintain their physical fitness. This also helps in developing overall skills and personality.

More over, continuous focus towards studies can result in the problems related to the concentration. For example, if a student is asked to perform educational task in extra time also, there are chances they might start feeling frustrated. Instead, if they utilize their free span of time in watching television, or do any other recreational activity where they feel relax, calm and comfortable. Like this he will be more attentive when he starts learning again.

In the nutshell, getting engrossed in activities other than educational not only helps to improve health but also fosters the mental level. This, clearly debunks the idea that free time activities should be educational. I believe that other physical activities make us feel fresh and healthy. It is accepted that parents will be made aware of advantages of spending free moments doing other tasks.
